Imran Arif has taken 11 wickets in county cricket this season

Worcestershire bowler Imran Arif staked a claim for a first-team spot with a seven-wicket haul against Warwickshire Seconds at Kidderminster.

Arif, 25, posted figures of 7-53 as the Bears were all out for 141.

In reply Worcestershire reached 218-3 at close of play on the first day with Ben Smith on 78 not out and Neil Pinner unbeaten on 59.

Meanwhile Matt Mason will miss Sunday's Pro 40 League game against Essex with a heel and ankle injury.
