Fisher made his debut for Yorkshire in 1996 |
Worcestershire left-arm spinner Ian Fisher says he wants a place in the club's County Championship team. The 33-year-old has yet to play in the four-day game for the New Road club since his winter move from Nevil Road-based Gloucestershire. He told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "It's hard for spinners early season in four-day cricket, but when the pitches suit, hopefully I'll get a game. "I am confident I can do a job for the team in four-day cricket as well." Fisher, who took the county's first ever Twenty20 hat-trick against his old county, says being full-time has helped his game: "We had a good winter and I am enjoying my cricket at Worcester, and a good few months since we started playing." | I am not looking too far ahead, I just want to get my head down and literally keep my eye on the ball, and if there's another contact on the way that would be great. He went to school with the county's other spinner Gareth Batty in Yorkshire and is on a one-year contract at New Road. He said: "I am not looking too far ahead, I just want to get my head down and literally keep my eye on the ball, and if there's another contact on the way that would be great. "It was good to sing our song after the win against Gloucester and shake hands with the lads after the game."
