Hick, 42 next month, will be out of action for two weeks |
Worcestershire batsman Graeme Hick is to have an elbow operation that will keep him out of action for two weeks. Hick has some floating bone that needs to be cleared out of his elbow and the county have decided to get it done now rather than later in the season. The record-breaking batsman has started the season well, hitting a century against Warwickshire last week. Worcestershire are also monitoring the fitness of Simon Jones, who injured his neck in the game against Warwickshire. Worcestershire start a four-day County Championship match against Leicestershire at New Road on Wednesday. Full ball-by-ball commentary will be available on BBC Hereford and Worcester on 738AM and online at bbc.co.uk/herefordandworcester.
