Rhodes angry with Kolpak players

Worcestershire director of cricket Steve Rhodes has criticised the use of Kolpak players by county teams.

Kolpaks are overseas players registered to play in domestic cricket, but Rhodes says he is totally against them coming to play in the county game.

"Where's the opportunity for our young English guys?" said the former England player to BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"They are taking the jobs away, and clubs are not breaking the rules, but they should give English lads a go."

Worcestershire play Essex in a two-day friendly game starting on Wednesday, 9 April and then play Herefordshire at New Road on Saturday, 12 April.

The first County Championship game is against Warwickshire at Edgbaston on Wednesday, 16 April and there will be full ball-by-ball commentary on BBC Hereford and Worcester.
