Worcestershire have announced the signing of left-arm spinner Ray Price, who will be available between now and the end of the 2006 season. A former Zimbabwe international,Price has registered as a non-overseas player under the controversial Kolpak ruling.
He said: "I have always wanted to play county cricket and am really looking forward to the challenge."
He played 18 Tests before joining Heath Streak's rebel group that turned its back on the Zimbabwe Cricket Union.
Price has decided his future cricketing career lies in England and has told Worcestershire he is keen to qualify to play for England in due course.
The county's director of cricket, Tom Moody, said: "In the short-term his experience and skill will help us finish our season in style.
"His attitude and work ethic will give us a timely boost for the final five weeks of the season."
