Woakes made his international t20 debut for England in Australia |
Warwickshire could welcome all-rounder Chris Woakes back from injury for their FL t20 match against Nottinghamshire at Edgbaston on Wednesday evening. The 22-year-old has not played since 8 May because of sore shins. Director of cricket Ashley Giles told BBC WM: "When you've options like Ant Botha and Chris Woakes available, it makes selection difficult. "It's a nice problem to have and we're certainly hoping that Chris will be available for Wednesday." After away victories at Durham and Yorkshire, the Bears lost for the first time in the 2011 competition against Northamptonshire at Edgbaston on Sunday. The visitors recovered from 91-8 to set Warwickshire a target of 151 to win. However, Northants off-spinner Johan Botha took 4-16 as the home side were bowled out for just 110. "We had windows to win the game and we didn't take them," said Giles. "That's the biggest lesson that we've learned. "You're allowed to lose the odd game of cricket, but when you get a chance, be ruthless and kill the game off. We didn't do that."
