Will Porterfield smashed 64 from 34 balls as Warwickshire eased to a five-wicket win against Yorkshire.

Andrew Gale (54), Adam Lyth (33) and Anthony McGrath (28) gave Yorkshire hope of a major score but they slumped from 121-3 to 161-8.

The Bears lost Varun Chopra in the first over but Neil Carter (27) and Porterfield steadied the ship.

Rikki Clarke (26no) and Tim Ambrose (21no) then guided Warwickshire to 164-5 with 13 balls to spare.

Porterfield's half century was his second in successive nights after his Twenty20 best 83 in Thursday's win over Durham.

It helped last summer's North Group table toppers go out in front again, going into Sunday's home date with Northants.
