Robinson has won six trophies for Sussex since 2006 |
Sussex cricket manager Mark Robinson will take charge of England Under-19s in their 2010 World Cup campaign. The 42-year-old former Lancashire and Yorkshire bowler will be assisted by Sussex fielding coach Carl Hopkinson. He said: "It's a great honour to be coaching England and this is another good learning experience for me. "I'd like to pass on my gratitude to Sussex for releasing me from my duties for the tournament and I'm very much looking forward to the competition." Robinson has led Sussex to six trophy victories since taking from Peter Moores in 2006. Sussex chief executive Dave Brooks added: "Mark has been an exceptional coach for Sussex over the last four seasons and we are delighted this has been recognised by England. "Having just come back from India energised with new ideas, the club see the value in offering our coaching team the opportunity to widen their experience whenever possible and we believe this will benefit Mark, Carl, the Under-19s and Sussex."
