Kirtley fears facing a stronger Lancashire in the championship
Sussex bowler James Kirtley feels Lancashire will be formidable opponents this summer after the appointment of Peter Moores as coach.
The former England coach led Sussex to their first County Championship title six years ago.
Kirtley told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "On a personal level, it's fantastic for him to be involved in county cricket.
"On the flip side, Lancashire are going to be that much stronger opponents."
He continued: "Peter brought energy, an environment of challenge. Players would challenge to improve, they weren't allowed to cruise they weren't allowed to stand still.
"They were always looking, not just to develop personally, but the team as well.
"I'm sure Lancashire will be quite excited, what's nice as well is for a county to appoint an English coach. It's great for everybody."
