Sussex chief executive Gus Mackay is leaving Sussex to take up the new role of managing director at Surrey.

The 41-year-old former Zimbabwean international spent two years at Hove after arriving from Leicestershire.

He told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "It has been a tough decision, but on the flip-side it's a wonderful chance.

"The key is bringing the whole game together under one umbrella, like we're achieving at Sussex. It's clear Surrey want to get back to the top again".
