Jordan has taken 45 wickets in 21 first-class games
Surrey all-rounder Chris Jordan has admitted that he was shocked to be named in the England Performance Programme squad.
The 21-year-old was named on the category 'B' list for players perceived to be one to three years away from the England team.
Jordan told BBC London 94.9: "I was a bit shocked when I was actually picked for the programme.
"I'm really looking forward to it, it's another opportunity to develop."
Jordan, who was born in Barbados but has an English grandmother, has played 21 first-class games for Surrey since making his debut in 2007.
As part of the performance squad he will take part in winter training camps at the National Cricket Performance Centre in Loughborough and the Cricket South Africa Performance Centre in Pretoria.
"I'll be working closely with Kevin Shine, the fast bowling coach, Dene Hills, the batting coach, and guest coaches like Graham Gooch and Allan Donald," added Jordan.
"It's another opportunity to develop my game, as well as working with some really talented players."
