Surrey's Jordan will fight nerves
Surrey bowler Chris Jordan says he is trying not to let nerves get to him before the new season.

The 19-year-old made his debut for the Browncaps in a Twenty20 match at Lords last season.

"Going into my first full season, I'm just as nervous as when made my debut," he told BBC London 94.9.

"But I just hope I keep my nerve, I'll try not to think about it too much, just try and keep everything natural and do what I do best."

Jordan was still at College when he made his debut against Middlesex last summer but is now fully focused on cricket and has just returned from a stint in Australia at the Paul Terry Academy.

He added: "It was a great experience, I learnt a lot from the Australians. I trained hard during the weeks and played cricket at the weekend.

"Every other day I had a net with Paul Terry himself and spent a lot of time in the nets. It was really good to get some time under the belt with the ball.

"I kind of lost my rhythm coming towards the end but i have a month to rectify that problem and should be ready for the season.

"This is my first full pre-season and I'm really looking forward to it. There will be a lot of tests but hopefully I'll be up for it and do a good job for the team.

"I'm just concentrating on my cricket now, no school work to worry about. I hope I can put my all into it and that hopefully will be the key to my success."
