Chris Adams is excited about the start of the new season
Surrey manager Chris Adams is keen to end seven weeks of preparation when his players open their County Championship campaign at home to Gloucestershire.
Adam's side will be aiming to haul themselves out of Division Two after suffering relegation last season.
"We've picked the 13 and it's now time for the business end of what we do to begin," he told BBC London 94.9.
"I'll talk to the squad and then take a step back and allow Michael Brown to do his job and lead the team."
Adams added: "We have had seven weeks of preparation and the coming together of the squad.
"So there is a lot of excitement and anticipation of what is ahead of us.
"I cannot stress enough that the 13 that we pick deserve their chance because they have worked so hard this pre-season."
You can hear full ball-by-ball commentary of Surrey's opening County Championship Division Two match against Gloucestershire at The Brit Oval on BBC London online from 15 April (play starts 1100 BST).
