Jordan frustrated by his injuries

Surrey all-rounder Chris Jordan says he became extremely frustrated by the back and calf injuries that plagued him throughout last season.

The 20-year-old told BBC London 94.9: "It was quite difficult. When I did bowl I thought I bowled quite well.

"The injuries have just been frustrating. I had one and then another followed. It's just been the story of my season.

"I just hope I can go away this winter and get stronger."

The right-handed batsman, who also bowls medium-fast, joined Surrey after he was spotted at Dulwich College, where he had gained a sports scholarship from his native Barbados.

Jordan made his debut against Middlesex at Lords in August 2007 and scooped the NBC Dennis Compton Award as Surrey's most promising young player in the same year.

But after a successful start with the Brown Caps his second season has been hampered by injury.

"It's been very frustrating for me. The season was interrupted by a couple of injuries," he said.

"Hopefully I'll come back stronger next season and play as many games as possible and help Surrey come straight back up to the first division."
