Banks hails from Anguilla and was a Kolpak player at Somerset |
Somerset have released former West Indies international Omari Banks following a two-year spell at Taunton. The 27-year-old all-rounder played just six Championship games last season, scoring one half-century and taking seven wickets. Somerset director of cricket Brian Rose praised Banks' application but said: "He hasn't had the performances to justify another contract." Meanwhile, leg-spinner Mike Munday has signed a new one-year deal. Banks, who joined Somerset as a Kolpak player two years ago, was suspended for 12 days by the England and Wales Cricket Board earlier this season for ball tampering in a Second XI match.
