South African-born Kieswetter hopes to play for England
Craig Kieswetter says Somerset's start to their one-day campaign shows they are heading in the right direction.
They chased 271 to beat Warwickshire in the Friends Provident Trophy on Sunday, with Kieswetter scoring a century.
"Last year our one-day cricket was really inconsistent. There's been a lot of tactical talking, and it's paid off," he told BBC Radio Bristol.
"To win by eight wickets chasing that many on an early-season wicket gives us momentum," the South African added.
"Any side with momentum is a side to be feared because we're starting to get the habit of winning and that's a very good habit to have."
Kieswetter, who scored an unbeaten 138 in the group stage match, said the county now had a "good mix" of younger and experienced players but conceded there was still work to be done.
"Everyone's got to realise we're going through an evolution with our one-day cricket," he said.
It was the 21-year-old wicketkeeper's second unbeaten ton of the season after he scored 150 in the County Championship match against Warwickshire and he feels he is benefitting from a winter spell in Perth.
"I couldn't ask for a better start to the season," he said.
"I was out with Justin Langer working over a nine-week period trying to give me a broadened expertise and knowledge of my own game and it's seemingly worked.
"You've still got to keep working, hitting balls in the nets and finding the technique. But two hundreds is a good start."
