Afghanistan beat Scotland in last year's final
Scotland, who lost last year's final to Afghanistan, will start their 2011/12 ICC Intercontinental Cup campaign at home to the Netherlands. The Dutch will visit Citylets Mannofield in Aberdeen from Tuesday 21 to Friday 24 June. Eight sides will compete in the latest competition, which includes the six leading teams in cricket's second tier. Two others will be announced after next month's ICC's World Cricket League Division 2 competition in Dubai. The other three teams to qualify automatically as they have one-day international status are Canada, Ireland and Kenya. Following the four-day first-class match, Scotland and the Netherlands will return to Mannofield the following week to play three Twenty20 matches. Two of these games will take place on Tuesday 28 June, with the third match on Wednesday 29 June. These matches will form part of both teams' initial preparations for the 2012 T20 World Cup qualification event early next year. Further Intercontinental Cup fixtures will be announced in due course.
