Scotland open CB40 with trip to Durham

Scotland will open next year's Clydesdale Bank 40 tournament with a trip to face Durham on 24 April.

Defending champions Warwickshire, Surrey, Northants, Hampshire and Leicestershire, who Scotland beat twice last year, make up the group.

Scotland's home games will be in three pairs of matches played on consecutive days in May, July and August.

With Scotland yet to arrange a visit from a Test nation, most likely Sri Lanka, venues have yet to be decided.

Cricket Scotland's chief executive Roddy Smith said: "We are still awaiting confirmation of our major game in 2011, although we hope to be in a position to announce this by early in the new year.

"The delay in knowing the date of this game means we will not publicly announce the venues for our home matches at this stage, although we do have venues in mind.

"This is important in allowing the domestic fixtures to be scheduled and passed out to the clubs in early January."

The 2011 season will also include three games in the Intercontinental Cup, which will have one-day and T20 games scheduled alongside the four-day game.

Scotland finished as runners-up to Afghanistan in the final of this year's I-Cup, played in Dubai this month.
