Triangular Twenty20 tournament, Nairobi: Kenya 126-0 beat Scotland 123 by 10 wickets Match scorecard
Gavin Hamilton's Scotland found Kenya too strong on two occasions |
Scotland were heavily beaten by Kenya to finish with two wins and two losses in the Nairobi Twenty20 tournament. Despite twice beating Uganda, the Scots again found the hosts, unbeaten in this event, too strong on Thursday. Scotland were bowled out for 123 in the final over despite a battling 45 from Jan Stander featuring three sixes. Kenya cruised to their target with five and a half overs remaining, winning by 10 wickets. David Obuya hit 65 off 47 balls and Steve Tikolo made 56. For the hosts, Nehemiah Odiambo took 5-20 with the new ball as Scotland's top order floundered. As for the Scottish bowlers, only Dewald Nel and Richie Berrington found some control with the others conceding plenty of boundaries to the whirling blades of Obuya and Tikolo. Scotland now head to the United Arab Emirates for the important ICC World Twenty20 qualifier along with Ireland, who emerged from their own mini-tournament in Sri Lanka with a win over Afghanistan and defeats to Canada and Sri Lanka A.
