Downpour denies Scots and Kenya

Warwickshire batsman Navdeep Poonia
Poonia will miss the games against the Kenyans

Scotland's Intercontinental Cup encounter with Kenya at Titwood was abandoned without a ball being bowled after torrential rain in Glasgow.

All four days were wash-outs and with the tie ending in no result, the Scots are no longer in contention to reach the final.

However, with each side earning ten points, the Kenyans still retain a slim chance of advancing.

The teams are due to meet again next week in two one-day internationals.

The Kenyans had been looking for some revenge after losing to the Saltires in Belfast last weekend.

Scotland won the third-place play-off at the World Twenty20 qualifiers.

Warwickshire batsman Navdeep Poonia will miss out on next week's games, scheduled to be played on Tuesday and Wednesday in Ayr, due to county commitments.

But he will be available for 18 August's one-day match against England.
