Chris Read and Samit Patel celebrate with Steve Mullaney as the latter takes the wicket of Durham's Phil Mustard in the four-day game at Trent Bridge
Nottinghamshire captain Chris Read says they have made a dream start to their County Championship campaign. Notts are top of division one after winning all of their opening four games, including an innings victory over reigning champions Durham. Read told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It's a dream start to the season and we need to build on our momentum. "It starts again on Monday against Hampshire who we've beaten once so we'll be looking to do the same again." Notts will be without South African batsman Hashim Amla from now on though as his spell as the county's overseas player has come to an end. Read admits he will be missed: "When I saw that we'd managed to sign him I was very excited and he's one of the best I've played with. "Hopefully we'll see him at Trent Bridge at some point in the future."
