Footit made his club debut as a teenager against Glamorgan

Nottinghamshire bowler Mark Footitt has signed a new one-year contract to keep him at Trent Bridge.

The 22-year-old made his Notts debut in 2005 but injury prevented him making a single appearance during 2008.

Director of cricket Mick Newell said: "Mark is a talent worth persisting with because he is potentially the quickest bowler that we've got.

"He'll be working very hard to get fit and it's up to him to push for a place in the early stages of next season."
