We're a match for anyone - Hall

Captain Andrew Hall believes Northants' Twenty20 team are playing better cricket than last year's side.

They reached the finals day at Edgbaston in 2009, but they were knocked out by eventual winners Sussex at the semi-final stage.

Hall told BBC Look East: "We're playing a better form of cricket. We struggled at times last season.

"This season we've dominated against some teams, which is something we didn't do last year."

Northants secured a third straight year in the Twenty20 quarter-finals with a seven-wicket win against Durham.

"It's a target we set ourselves and we knew we wanted to win three from three. I'm just really proud of how the boys played," he added.

"The main thing is that we know if we pitch up on the day and play the type of cricket we know we can, we can take on any team.

"Finals day is a case of making sure we are on the money."

Listen live to Somerset v Northants on 104.2 and 103.6 FM BBC Radio Northampton and online on Tuesday, 27 July at 1650 BST.
