Evans took four wickets in his only first-class match for Durham |
Northants have signed Durham seam bowler Luke Evans on a one-month loan deal to act as cover for the injured David Wigley. The 6ft 7ins 22-year-old, whose only first-class game was against Sri Lanka A in 2007, could make his debut against Gloucestershire on Thursday. He said: "I'm really excited to have the opportunity to play some first-team cricket for Northants. "I've been in good form and I want to continue to progress and improve." Northants head coach David Capel said: "I've been aware of Luke's ability as a bowler for a couple of years. "Having spoken to Geoff Cook, director of cricket at Durham, I've been informed that Luke is bowling well, is in good form and is ready for an opportunity in first class cricket."
