Sales also missed the 2001 season following an earlier knee operation |
Northamptonshire batsman David Sales has been cleared to begin preparing for a return to action next season. The 31-year-old former county captain spent the whole of this summer on the sidelines following major knee surgery. "It's been a long season for me but I had some good news last week," Sales told BBC Radio Northampton. "All the ligaments have taken well so I can start the rehabilitation programme to get my leg back to full strength ready for next season." Sales managed a successful comeback from an earlier knee operation in 2001 and then went seven years without missing a County Championship match for Northants. Last summer he agreed a new four-year deal to keep him at Wantage Road until at least 2012.
