Hall is signed to the Indian Cricket League's Chandigarh Lions

Northants will support South African all-rounder Andrew Hall in his appeal against his ban from county cricket.

Hall, and Northants team-mate Johan van der Wath, featured in the unauthorised Indian Cricket League.

The England and Wales Cricket Board blocked Hall's registration last week, giving Northants 14 days to appeal.

Northants chief executive Mark Tagg told BBC Radio Northampton: "We will be supportive once we have been given certain assurances."

Hall is a former South Africa Test player and featured in the World Cup squad but was excluded for the ICC World Twenty20 - a decision which prompted him to retire from international cricket.

Northamptonshire announced his signing last year and he was due to join the County Ground side on a three-year deal.

Van der Wath, another South African international, is also appealing against his ban.
