Leicestershire have handed pace bowler Harry Gurney a new deal that will see him return to Grace Road next season.

The left-armer, 22, has impressed the coaching staff in the recent Twenty20 games and captain Paul Nixon says he is a much improved player.

"He went away in the winter and worked really hard and he's come back a totally new cricketer," Nixon told BBC Radio Leicester.

"It's testament to the work he's put in off the field and we're delighted."
