Nixon will shortly start planning for next season with the Foxes |
Leicestershire captain Paul Nixon says he has loved playing with the Delhi Giants, despite falling at the knockout stages of the Indian Cricket League. Nixon told BBC Radio Leicester: "It's such a fantastic competition. "The Indian public have really warmed to Twenty20, as the English public have, and out here there's over a billion people who are cricket mad." Nixon is due to return home before flying back to India to play in a mini-world tournament later in November. The 37-year-old says he has played before crowds of 45,000 in the ICL and wants the competition, which is currently regarded as a rebel league, to be officially recognised. "It doesn't encroach on the county game. The ICL have spoken to the powers that be and say they will do whatever it takes [to get official backing]," he added. Nixon says he will shortly start training for Leicestershire and planning for next summer.
