Leicestershire seam bowler Nadeem Malik has signed a new two-year deal to keep him at Grace Road until at least 2010.

The 25-year-old has had an excellent first season for the county - taking 42 Championship wickets so far.

Chief executive David Smith told the club's website: "He bowls in good areas, gets bounce and shapes the ball away from the batter.

"I'm delighted that we have got him on board and he can continue to work on improving his game with us."

The paceman moved to Leicestershire from Worcestershire in December 2007.
