Leicestershire have made their third signing of the winter by bringing in Worcestershire paceman Nadeem Malik. The former Nottinghamshire seamer has returned to the East Midlands after being squeezed out at New Road. Apart from signing former England fast bowler Simon Jones, Worcestershire have also brought in two more fast bowlers in Gareth Andrew and Chris Whelan. And Malik, who was allowed out on loan back to Notts late last summer, is now considered surplus to requirements. | Nadeem Malik, Born Nottingham, Aged 25 Notts 2001-2003, 14 matches, 37 first-class wkts Worcs 2004-2007, 37 matches, 100 first-class wkts |
The 25-year-old took a career-best eight wickets for Worcestershire in his only appearance at Grace Road two summers ago. After letting six players go last September, as well as losing Stuart Broad (to Notts) and David Masters (Essex), the Foxes have also signed South African duo Boeta Dippenaar and Garnett Kruger. Worcestershire academy pair Joel Pope and James Taylor have also been drafted into a new-look squad.
