Broad is one of the brightest prospects in the country |
Leicestershire coach Tim Boon will offer Stuart Broad a new contract to ward off interest from other counties. The seamer, 20, capped an impressive season by earning a call-up for England for the one-day series against Pakistan and is on standby for the Ashes series.
"Stuart is contracted for at least another year and we will be looking to ensuring that remains the case.
"Having come through the development system, we hope he will show loyalty to the club," Boon told the club website.
Broad, who is 6ft 7ins tall and still growing, burst to prominence with a series of fine performances for the Foxes as they won the Twenty20 Cup.
He was expensive at times in the one-dayers against Pakistan, and was overlooked for the Champions Trophy and main Ashes squads.
But even if he agrees a new contract, Boon - who was previously part of the England coaching set-up - does not expect to see much of him.
"We have to be realistic in our outlook concerning Stuart and prepare for the fact that he may not play much for Leicestershire in the future due to his England commitments," he added.
