Lancashire batsman Stephen Moore believes county cricketers are being asked to play too many games. Moore, who has just returned from a shoulder injury, says the England and Wales Cricket Board are ignoring calls for fewer fixtures and longer breaks. The 30-year-old England Lion told BBC Radio Lancashire: "They're not taking into consideration the amount of cricket they're expecting from players. "They need to allow us to take a break between games." Moore accepts there are a number of pros and cons for changing the schedule but feels whatever the outcome it must be for the good of the game. | Personally, I can't see the point in playing 16 T20 games Lancashire batsman Stephen Moore |
"We aren't the only side in that situation so we have just got to make sure we are better prepared than the other sides to deal with it," said the Johannesburg-born cricketer. "I'm sure they [ECB] would face problems if they changed the schedule but for the strength of domestic cricket going further into the future something has to give. "So you're either going to have to make the season longer or cut the number of games down to expect people to play at their best. "Personally, I can't see the point in playing 16 T20 games. But if it makes financial sense I suppose it's difficult to argue with that format if it's going to make a difference to county cricket." Lancashire begin their domestic season against Sussex in the County Championship on 8 April.
