Lancashire have reappointed Glen Chapple as captain for a third year.

The 36-year-old fast bowler, who joined the club in 1992, has skippered the Red Rose county since taking over from Stuart Law in 2009.

Chapple took 52 Championship wickets at an average of 19.10 and scored 403 runs last season as well as being named the club's player of the year.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my two years as club captain and I am delighted to continue into 2011," he said.

"Over the past two seasons, Glen has grown into the role of Captain and has shown that the demands of the job have enhanced his performances with both bat and ball," head coach Peter Moores added.

"He is highly respected by both players and coaches alike and his contributions, on and off the field, have been outstanding."
