Lancashire have been dealt a blow a week before the start of their county championship season with the news that Gary Keedy has broken his collarbone.

The 35-year-old left-arm spinner fell awkwardly during Lancashire's two-day pre-season friendly against Durham.

Keedy, who made his Lancashire debut in 1995, will undergo surgery in the next 48 hours and it is unclear how long he will be out of action for.

The club start their campaign at home to Warwickshire on Thursday.
