Kent's Joe Denly delighted with nervy win over Middlesex
Denly made 28 in Kent's two-wicket victory at Canterbury
Kent opener Joe Denly said he was delighted with the side's display during the two-wicket win against Middlesex at Canterbury in the CB40.
Middlesex posted 263 with Kent reaching their target with three balls to spare.
Denly and Daniel Bell-Drummond hit 51 for the first wicket while in-form Kent all-rounder Darren Stevens top-scored with 65, and Sam Northeast hit 57.
Denly told BBC Radio Kent: "It was a bit nervy, but obviously great to get home in the end."
He continued: "We thought 263 was a pretty good score on that wicket and we thought somebody would have to bat through, but a few of the lads chipped in."
Both teams opened the bowling with spinners, and Denly praised the move from the Kent camp.
"We hadn't planned that," he said. "The first over was holding up in the wicket and with two left-handers we thought James Tredwell would be challenging.
"He did a good job so it proved to be a good decision."
Kent, who cannot reach the qualification positions for the semi-final stage of the competition, currently lie fourth in their CB40 group with five wins and five defeats.
