Northeast hit 58 not out in Kent's four wicket victory |
Kent batsman Sam Northeast says the team have reacted well to not being able to win any silverware this season. Darren Stevens and Northeast shared a fourth wicket partnership of 132 as Kent brushed aside the Netherlands in the Clydesdale Bank 40. "I wonder if that helps, a bit of pressure off, show what we are made of," he told BBC Radio Kent. "The guys know we should be performing but now we know things are not quite right we can just go out and play." The Dutch made 199 for 6 from their 40 overs and at one stage had Kent 51 for 4 before Northeast's arrival. Stevens hit 70 and Northeast 58 not out for a victory with four overs to spare. Northeast told BBC Radio Kent: "I just played the anchor role, with him looking a million dollars and me just nudge and nurdle." Kent are fifth in their group with four wins and five defeats. Kent's next game in the CB40 against Middlesex is live on BBC Radio Kent and bbc.co.uk/kent on Tuesday, 16 August at 1630 BST.
