Farbrace's side play in Division Two of the County Championship this season |
Bad weather has forced Kent to relocate to Dubai for the first half of their pre-season training schedule. The club had planned to begin their training at Canterbury but poor weather conditions have held up preparation of the playing surfaces. "We look forward to an intense programme of preparation in ideal conditions," said director of cricket, Paul Farbrace. Kent begin their County Championship campaign against Essex on 8 April. Farbrace added: "Knowing with certainty we will get good weather and excellent practice facilities mean we should achieve a great deal in the time we are away." The club's chief executive Jamie Clifford added: "Whilst finances are extremely tight, it is vital that our players are well prepared for the coming season. "With fantastic support from the Dubai end - particularly Rod Marsh - I have confidence that this will be a sound investment."
