Khan hopeful for Kent comeback
Amjad Khan
Khan's return would be a major boost for Kent's prospects next summer
Kent paceman Amjad Khan expects to be fully fit for the start of the 2008 season after over a year out of the game following a knee operation.

He is currently continuing his rehabilitation in India with the England Performance Programme squad.

"It's a gradual process to ensure I come back at my optimum," Khan told the Kent website.

"I should really be ready by February and raring to go for Kent in April. That's the aim anyway."

The 26-year-old, who was born in Denmark, became eligible for England selection in December 2006 and was chosen to tour Bangladesh with the second-string squad last winter.

But he had to return home after two days and underwent knee surgery in February.

Khan is currently bowling in the nets off a two-pace approach but hopes to be back to 70-80% of his normal speed in two months time.

"'For me, it's about getting back to where I was when I was at my best, which was being selected for the England A tours and the provisional World Cup squad," he said.
