Ireland beat Denmark by five wickets in their second European Championship match at Rathmines on Saturday. The Danes accumulated 179-9 off their 50 overs with Freddie Klokker their top scorer with 85. Kyle McCallan was Ireland's best bowler with figures of 3-32 while Andre Botha and Kevin O'Brien both took two wickets and Peter Connell and Andrew White one. Ireland made 182-5 off 45.4 overs in reply, William Porterfield scoring 58, Gary Wilson 32 and White 30. Reinhardt Strydom finished 21 not out and O'Brien 12 not out. Ireland, the reigning champions, beat Norway by eight wickets in their opening fixture on Friday and next play the Netherlands in a full one-day international at Clontarf on Monday.
