Ireland wrapped up victory after hosts UAE had produced brave resistance in the Intercontinental Cup clash. Resuming on 186-7, Saqib Ali completed his century and he and Zahid Shah contributed a partnership of 159 before Greg Thompson dismissed Shah lbw. Thompson quickly dismissed Alhashmi and Saqib Ali departed five short of his double century to end the UAE innings. Ireland hit the required 64 runs in 14 overs for the loss of Paul Stirling with William Porterfield 40 not out. Alex Cusack's dismissal of the impressive Ali, with Eoin Morgan taking the catch, brought his tally up to three wickets while Kyle McCallan also claimed three victims.
Thompson finished with two wickets while Trent Johnston and Andre Botha each chipped in with a wicket. In response to the UAE's first innings of 228 all out, the Irish scored 474 all out, Niall O'Brien top scoring with 174 and Trent Johnston contributing 69.
