Weather ends Windies winning run
One-day international, Dublin: Ireland 84-4 v Windies
Match abandoned, rain

Daren Powell

The West Indies were denied the chance of a third quadrangular series win as rain ruined their clash with Ireland.

The match was abandoned in the 18th over with the hosts on 84-4, Eion Morgan top-scoring on 37 not out.

Daren Powell took two wickets, William Porterfield (4) edging to Danesh Ramdin and Andre Botha (0) getting an inside edge onto his stumps in the same over.

Kevin O'Brien entertained the crowd with four fours and a six in his 25 before rain put an end to proceedings.

Ireland captain Trent Johnston praise Morgan's efforts, saying: "He has played a fantastic innings, against a Test-playing nation.

"It wasn't just a one-off either as he showed great quality which will stand up in all conditions.

"He puts away the bad ball and that is what you need at the top of the order, that is what we were looking for and he has delivered.

"Eoin opening increases our options dramatically - he is a great talent."
