Hampshire's new commercial director Zac Toumazi has said his main aim is to secure a title sponsor for the Rose Bowl cricket ground. Toumazi, who spent the last six years as an executive at the Oval, hopes the venue can sell the naming rights for the first time in its 10 year history. "A title sponsor is really important, it gives the ground the credibility it deserves," he told BBC Radio Solent. "Ultimately we're raising money to go back into the club, so it's important." "I am very pleased to be joining such an ambitious and forward thinking club as Hampshire," said Toumazi. "This year will be an exciting year in the Rose Bowl's history, with the first ever Test match on the south coast being held at this venue, as well as the re-development of the ground and the Hampshire Royals' defence of their FP t20 crown. "I look forward to the challenge of helping make all of these a great success and playing my part in making the Rose Bowl a long-term success." With the Ashes tour set to return to England in 2013 a review of the process of allocation of major international fixtures has been discussed by the England and Wales Cricket Board. But some counties, including Yorkshire, have already said they will not bid for an Ashes Test at their home ground because of the costs involved, but Toumazi said he would consider the case for the Rose Bowl. "Why would we want to turn down an opportunity to have the Australians here and give our fans and supporters an opportunity to see them play here?" he said. "Until I've really got my feet under the table, I won't say definitely, but it's something I'll take a long hard look at."
