White is looking forward to his first full season as Hampshire coach |
Hampshire cricket manager Giles White has ruled out further signings ahead of the 2009 season. White stepped up from his role as second XI coach following Paul Terry's decision to stand down in July. He told BBC Radio Solent: "I never say never, but at the moment I'm very happy with our squad." Hampshire added former England Test all-rounder Dominic Cork in the summer while Pakistan spinner Imran Tahir will be the overseas player next season. | I don't anticipate us adding anyone in the near future, we've got a nice rounded squad | "I think Dominic Cork compliments the squad very well and Imran's going to be our overseas player for the whole year which is great," added White. "As a squad I don't anticipate us adding anyone in the near future, we've got a nice rounded squad with depth in the bowling department, a strong batting line-up and young players coming through." White will be assisted next season by former England coach Duncan Fletcher, who will work at the Rose Bowl on a consultancy basis. The pair are due to meet up in Perth later this month. Hampshire finished third in Division One of the County Championship last season after an unbeaten run of four wins and three draws in their last seven matches. The county also finished runners-up in the Pro40 Division One.
