Brentford cruised to a comfortable win over a luckless Aldershot.

The Bees took the lead after 28 minutes when Marcus Bean latched on to a backpass to give the home side the lead after a bright start from the visitors.

Brentford keeper Ben Hamer denied John Grant and Rob Elvins with Charlie MacDonald missing a penalty before the striker netted a second spot kick.

The Bees wrapped things up with an 87th minute goal for Ipswich loan striker Jordan Rhodes on his home debut.
