Pothas played with Warne at Hampshire between 2002 and 2007 |
Hampshire wicketkeeper Nic Pothas has put the club's recent upturn in form down to former captain Shane Warne. The team were bottom of the County Championship back in July but went into this week's penultimate round of fixtures in top position. "He obviously taught us a lot in the past. We've applied a lot of that to get us into this position," Pothas told BBC Radio Solent. Warne skippered Hampshire until last season when he decided to retire. "Take nothing away from Warne, the guy's a genius," Pothas added. "He's certainly one of the best captains I've played under. "We are only in this situation because of what he taught us."
