Shane Warne has been disciplined by the England and Wales Cricket Board over his outburst on Thursday 24 May in Hampshire's County match against Kent. The ECB handed the Hampshire captain six penalty points for serious dissent and using offensive language.
Warne stood his ground on being given out lbw and then used unsavoury language within earshot of the crowd.
The points will stay on Warne's record for two years and the accumulation of more than nine result in a suspension.
The Australian leg-spinner initially refused to leave the crease after umpire Tim Robinson adjudged him out leg before wicket off the bowling of Ryan McLaren.
He then glared back at the umpire on eventually leaving the field and unleashed a volley of invective on reaching the pavilion.
