Gloucestershire batsman Chris Taylor believes the forthcoming Cheltenham Festival could be crucial to his side's chances of success in the CB40.

The county begin a feast of cricket in the Cotswold town with a one-day game against Yorkshire on Thursday.

Taylor told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "Our one-day form at Cheltenham Festival is good.

"It's a top-of-the-table clash and, if we beat Yorkshire, it will put us in a fine position."

He added: "We'll take a lot of confidence going into that game."

After the Yorkshire clash, Gloucestershire face County Championship matches against Glamorgan and Worcestershire before another CB40 match with Middlesex.

"The crowds are good, they get behind you and on the back of the opposition.

"That's something to feed off and the whole festival spirit comes alive. It's a great place to play when you're on top - it's my favourite place to play cricket."
