Dawson made his England debut against India in Mohali |
Former England off-spinner Richard Dawson has signed for Gloucestershire for the next two years. The 28-year-old played seven Tests from 2001 to 2003 before leaving Yorkshire in 2006. Dawson made his Gloucestershire debut in the County Championship against Glamorgan two weeks ago. Chief executive Tom Richardson told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "He's someone we've been looking at for a while, he can only improve under John Bracewell." Richardson added: "He's got a lot to offer and we're on the hunt for a couple more. "We said we wanted to strengthen the bowling and we're going to." Gloucestershire team mentor Jack Russell said: "The players and support staff are absolutely delighted that Richard has joined us full time. "Not only is he a high-quality cricketer but is a quality person who fits the required attitude to help take this team forward."
