Gloucestershire opener Craig Spearman will be sidelined for several days after being struck in the face during Tuesday's defeat by Northamptonshire. He was hit by a rising ball from South African paceman Johannes van der Wath. Team mentor Jack Russell told BBC Radio Bristol: "Craig will not be playing for a few days. "The ball got lodged in the metal grille of his helmet and cut the bridge of his nose. Craig also has a black eye and suffered concussion."
