Gloucestershire captain Jon Lewis says it is up to the younger bowlers to make a case for a regular first team spot.

"Myself and Steve Kirby, that's a very strong opening bowling partnership," Lewis told BBC Radio Bristol.

"But Anthony Ireland, Will Rudge, Carl Greenidge and Tom Stayt - they're four young guys who need to step up to the plate and take an opportunity."

"We need someone to back us up, and it's important that one of those guys grabs the opportunity," he added.

Gloucestershire take on Derby at the County Ground in Bristol in their first County Championship match of the season, which starts on Wednesday.
